Marble Producst
Marble is created by the metamorphosis of limestone or dolomite. This stone often has coarse crystals that distinguish it from sedimentary carbonate rocks. The main mineral of most marbles is calcite, and they also contain minerals such as quartz, graphite, hematite, limonite, pyrite, etc. Marbles contain some quartz or silicate, which makes them harder.
Desirable features of Marble according to the American standard (ASTM):
Water absorption coefficient ---------------------------------Maximum 0.2%
Specific weight -------------------------------------------------2.305 to 2.8 g/cm2
Compressive strength ---------------------------------- At least 520 kg/cm2
Tensile strength ----------------------------------------------- At least 70 kg/cm2
Abrasion resistance ----------------------------- -------------------------------- 10
